Galloping Gordie
STAFF and patients at Tameside General Hospital
could hardly believe their eyes one Friday afternoon in
1986 as Gordie West, country singer and entertainer from Alberta, Canada rode through the grounds on his trusty horse on a visit to the children's wards arranged by the Country Roads team. After parking the horse,
he stopped by for a chat with Mike Wallbank and Colin Martin.
